Rent reduction 2024

In 2023, tenants who had an income below 120% of the minimum income in 2021 automatically received a rent reduction. Until December 30, 2024, you can apply for a rent reduction yourself if your income has decreased in the past six months. This involves a rent reduction to €577.91.

When is rent reduction application possible?

  • You have been a tenant of ours since March 1, 2023 or earlier.
  • You have not yet had a rent reduction in 2023 under the ''Wet Eenmalige huurverlaging 2023''. This was a rent reduction to €575.03.
  • Your current rent in 2024 is more than €577.91.
  • You have a shared low income*

At the time of your application, we look at your income for the last six consecutive months. If your income is lower or equal than the income limits listed below, you can apply to us for a one-time rent reduction. This can be done until December 30, 2024.

  • Single-person households (no AOW) with an income up to and including €12,420
  • Single-person households (AOW) with an income up to and including € 13,215
  • Multiple person households (no AOW) with an income up to and including € 16,185*.
  • Multiple person households (with AOW) with an income up to and including € 17,575*.

* Income of resident children under 27 does not count in multi-person households.

What information do we need from you?

1) A self-drafted and signed statement regarding the household composition

2) A self-drafted and signed statement regarding the household income. This must contain the following elements:

  • The estimated amount of the current combined gross income of all tenants, excluding resident children under 27; based on:
    • Income from employment and/or benefits
    • Vacation pay (yes/no, how much)
    • Possible 13th month payment
    • Possible income from business or freelance activities

3) Attach supporting documents:

  • Regarding wage or benefits per person:
    • 1 payslip / benefit statement from the first month of the decline in income, at from at least 6 months ago.
    • 1 payslip / benefit statement from the last month prior the the application.
  • For income through company per person:
    • An estimate of profits for the previous 6 months.
  • For income from other activities (not from employment/benefits and not business income) per person:
    • An estimate of the gross income for the previous 6 months from the proceeds of those other activities minus the expenses incurred for it.
